WAVE, as it is known in the industry, begins next week. It is that time of year, typically and traditionally from the first week in January though the end of March, where the cruise lines experience a tremendous increase in cruise interest and bookings.

The call centers will literally see call volume go from a few thousand per day to tens of thousands of calls per day! I guess it is the convergence of everyone getting serious about making decisions on their vacations and the cruise lines’ efforts to close out the inventory that remains for spring and summer sailings.

What does this mean for you?

If you are considering a spring or summer cruise, seriously make your decision soon. And don’t be surprised if the rates have gone up since the last time you checked, especially if you area looking at Alaska or one of the newer, more popular ships. And should you need a cabin that can accommodate 3 or 4 people/kids, do not wait any longer! The availability of these cabins are limited to begin with and the discounted pricing on the 3rd and 4th passengers is increasing.

Do not procrastinate any longer. The wave of call volume is on its way, and at stake is capturing your best rate and any promotions for your cruise vacation.
